A 21-year-old man from Savage is charged with breaking into a Burnsville home through the kitchen window on Monday and caused a 9-month-old child to fall and hit her head, according to the St. Paul Pioneer Press.
The Dakota County Attorney's office charged Abdiaziz Bashir Abdikadir with first-degree burglary and terroristic threats, both felonies, and fifth-degree assault, a misdemeanor.
According to the court complaint, a woman caring for three children in the home heard a noise in the kitchen and saw Abdikadir entering through the window. She ran to get the baby out of the way, and Abdikadir "pushed the nine-month-old, causing the child to fall and hit her head," read charges.
He then told the woman he was going to kill her, according to the complaint against him.
The Pioneer Press reported that the man has a criminal history that includes convictions for theft, trespassing, underage alcohol consumption and traffic charges.
Abdikadir is being held at the Dakota County Jail in Hastings in lieu of $75,000 bail, with a warrant in Scott County for allegedly driving while under the influence and refusing to submit to a chemical test.
