One person was killed in a two-vehicle head-on crash this afternoon on icy Highway 169 in Shakopee.

Michah R. Gurgel, 30, of Jordan, was killed, according to the State Patrol.

The State Patrol said a 1998 Isuzu Rodeo driven by Daniel E. Fetting, 29, of Shakopee, was northbound on Highway 169 when Fetting lost control on icy roads and crossed the median, striking the Gurgel vehicle, which was southbound, head-on. Gurgel was in a 1994 Pontiac Sunbird, said the State Patrol.

Fetting suffered minor injuiries.

The crash occurred at 3:25 p.m. near Marystown Road (County Road 15).
